Alvin Sterling Silver Edwardian Bridal Rose Pie Knife Server 98g No Monogram
This is the smaller of two sizes of pie knife that was made in this pattern and this is from the earlier production of this pattern. The handle has a deep, 3-dimensional pattern of roses, leaves and stems that extends onto the wide, flat blade. It has a cartouche for a monogram, but it was not monogrammed. The back of the handle has a simpler but elegant continuation of the pattern.
It is marked "Patent Sterling" with an "A" in a cartouche. It was made by the Alvin Manufacturing Co. of Providence, Rhode Island, circa 1903. It measures about 9" long and weighs 98.1 grams.
Excellent Condition: no cracks, bends or dents; minor age wear.
This is a stunning piece that would be a great addition to a flatware service or as an accessory on its own. It would be a wonderful gift, especially for a bride! With the pattern name of Bridal Rose, how special for the Bride to cut the cake with it! We are always offering a nice selection of silver and other vintage goodies, so please take a look through our shop. We would be pleased to combine shipping on multiple purchases.
