Early 6 Piece set of Haviland Limoges Moss Rose

What a beautiful pattern! The classic Moss Rose pattern has always been popular and has been interpreted by many companies, with Haviland producing some of the more superb and highly prized pieces.

This set includes three salad plates, two berry bowls and one cup. They are trimmed with gold at the inner rims of the plates and bowls, and with a lovely pink color on the outer rims of each piece, plus the cup rim, handle and foot. The pink trim reflects the pink in the hand painted roses. The cup has slightly darker colors and is probably not as old as the other pieces, being ca. 1880.

The cup is marked “Haviland & Co., Limoges; H & Co.”. The plates and bowls have tiny artist marks in pink, and one bowl has an impressed “39”. The plates are about 7 ½” across, the bowls are 4 ¾” across, and the cup is almost 2 ¾” tall.

Very Good Condition: no cracks, chips, nicks or crazing. The gold trim has wear, retaining 85%. The pink trim shows much less wear, retaining 98% and the scattered roses show no wear.

This is a terrific set that would be a nice addition to any Moss Rose display, and it could be used as a special serving piece! Don’t miss this one!
