Max Roesler Reticulated Porcelain Basket
This is a beautiful reticulated porcelain basket in an oval shape. The side walls have a moulded basket weave pattern that can be seen and felt on both the interior and exterior of the bowl. The pure white porcelain is a nice backdrop for the colorful floral transfer decoration. The flowers include pansies, tulips, violets and more, with colors that include pink, purple, yellow, orange, and green. A double row of reticulated loops at the flared rim is nicely highlighted by hand applied gold trim. The edge around the bottom has a three-dimensional basket weave finish. The bottom also has a molded basket pattern with a circle in the center and the ring around the foot is unglazed.
It has a difficult to see, impressed shield mark in the center that looks to be that of Max Roesler, and a hand painted red mark "1012; XIV". It stands 3 ¼" tall and measures 10" by 8 ¾" on top.
Excellent Condition: no cracks, heavy scratches, stains, crazing, nicks or chips. It has the remnants of something that stuck to the bottom in the center.
This is a gorgeous serving piece with beautiful decoration. It is one of those pieces that will coordinate with most dinnerware patterns and room decors.
