Set of 3 Libbey Prism Zipper Cut Glass Tumblers ca. 1896
This beautiful set of glasses has a vertical cut pattern with rayed cuts alternating long and short lengths. Between each pair of rays is a horizontal cut zipper pattern. The bottom rim of the tumblers has a zig-zag shape, accented by the cut starburst on the polished bottom. All 3 have a wonderful ringtone when tapped.
They are marked with a Libbey etch on the inside bottom, and this mark dates from 1896-1906. Each is about 3 ¾" tall and the group weighs almost 2 pounds.
Good Condition: no cloudiness, cracks or heavy scratches. Each tumbler has 3 nicks or chips on the bottom at the zig zag edge that are not readily visible.
We are pleased to offer this group of antique cut glass tumblers that represent work by one of the best American Glass Houses of their time. It is a testimony to Libbey's craftsmanship and attention to detail that they are still operating today. This is a beautiful set, so don't miss out! We are always offering a nice selection of vintage goodies, so please take a look at our offerings. We would be pleased to combine shipping on multiple purchases.
