Electric Purple Imperial Grape Carnival Glass 11" Bowl with Outstanding Color

The wavy rim of this dish has a scalloped edge, and this is the electric purple version of this pattern. The bottom center of the bowl has a large bunch of grapes with leaves and the interior sides have a lovely moulded scallop pattern that mimics the edge. The exterior features several grape bunches, leaves and vines, all against a stippled background. Just below the outer rim is 3 concentric scalloped ridges.

The color on this piece is beyond exceptional! The base color of the glass is amethyst purple and the exterior has a gold, silver and blue shimmer, with heavy bright blue iridescence encircling the foot. The interior has the same bright, electric blue iridescent color in the bottom, becoming a bit more green and gold as the color extends up the sides. The top half of the sides has a lighter application of the blue, allowing the purple glass to shine.

This example has a very distinct pattern, and the electric color is very vibrant, with strong color highlights including green, blue, gold and purple.

It is an unmarked estate piece. It measures about 11" across the top and about 3 ¾" tall to the top of the rim.

Very Good Condition: no cracks or cloudiness. One tiny under rim chip that does not detract from the beauty of this piece. There are a couple minor crimping tool marks. No loss to the color.

This is a lovely example of carnival glass and it would be a terrific addition to any carnival glass collection! Terrific for use or display, any collector would be happy to add this to a set.
