We are offering a Pale Yellow Opaline Satin Glass Vase with Enameled Decoration.
This beauty has a unique body shape with a narrow, slightly flared, ringed neck and a bulbous body on a hollow foot. It is yellow over white cased glass with a satin finish and a cut rim. It has white enameling decoration on one side that features wild roses, leaves and stems with thorns. The white decoration has been outlined with gold. It is surprisingly lightweight.
This style of art glass vase is often referred to as Bristol Glass, but that is a misnomer. This vase is Victorian, likely from the Bohemian region, where high quality art glass is a tradition. It is unmarked and measures about 12" tall, almost 2" across the rim and just over 3" across the foot.
Excellent Condition: no cracks, heavy scratches or chips. It has minor roughness on the inside rim and the gold highlighting has heavy wear, retaining 50%.
This outstanding vase would be a terrific addition to any collection. It displays beautifully, so don't miss out! We always have a superb assortment of vintage goodies, so please take a look at our other offerings. We would be pleased to combine shipping on multiple purchases.
