A Piece of Early Georgian Embroidery, Circa 1730.

A piece of early Georgian embroidery. The joined linen ground embroidered in yellow silk in chain and back stitch with a meandering floral design on a diaper background. Circa 1730. Measurements, 16" by 17" ( maximum measurements), 12" by 13" ( minimum measurements ). Condition, Good, this piece was probably cut out from a dress fabric, the edges being cut into tabs, there is a small ( 1") split towards the centre. A rare piece of early Georgian yellow silk embroidery.
