A Georgian 9ct Gold, Garnet, Paste & Seed Pearl Fichu Brooch, Circa 1820.

A Georgian fichu ( lace pin ) . Made of 9ct gold, of bar design centered by a central cluster, the cluster set with a red paste surrounded by foiled flat cut garnets and seed pearls with further seed pearls and garnets set into the bar. Silver pin. Circa 1820. Measurements, west to east just over 1 1/8", north to south just over 3/4". Condition, Good, the gold has been acid tested as 9ct gold. The central paste has a tiny chip to the edge and some abrasion to the table facet edges, one of the small garnets (set at the end of the bar ) also has a small chip, consistent with age. A nice example of a brooch set with flat cut garnets which were very popular circa 1820.
