A Georgian 9ct Gold & Enamel Mourning Brooch, Circa 1800.

A Georgian 9ct gold mourning brooch, hexagonal in shape, the obverse containing a glass fronted compartment surrounded by blue and white enamelling. The compartment is lined with black silk. Circa 1800. Measurements, 1 3/8" by 7/8". Condition, Very Good, a tiny lose to the enamel. This brooch has never been used and still contains its original shop silk. The glass is particularly fine and is shaped at its edges. The gold has been acid tested as 9ct gold.
