A Victorian Silver & Turquoise Fringe Necklace. Circa 1895.

A Victorian silver fringe necklace. Composed of a fine belcher link chain set with alternating round varied coloured turquoises from which is suspended a tapering fringe of bars decorated in the middles with ribbed wire work and terminating in oval varied coloured turquoises. Circular snap barrel clasp. Circa 1895. Measurements, length 15 1/2" ( 39 cm ). Length of bars, smallest just under 3/4" ( 1.7 cm ). Largest about 1" ( 2.6 cm ). Condition, Very Good. There is a small gap in the setting of the second round turquoise from the left ( picture 3 ). Though the setting is quite secure. Acid tested as silver. N.B ( photographic note ) The reverses of the bars of the necklace appear golden in the photographs, this is a trick of the light, they are silver in appearance.
