A Georgian stickpin, consisting of a pear shaped head decorated in champleve enamel with scrolls against a black ground. Attached to a 9 ct gold long shaft pin with twisted grip to middle. Circa 1835. Measurements, total length 3 1/4" ( 8 cm ). Enamelled head, length 1/2" ( 1.5 cm ). Width 3/8" ( 1 cm ). Condition, Very Good, a couple of small abrasions to the enamel ( consistent with age ). The gold head has been acid tested as 15 ct gold. Black scrolling champleve enamel was a feature of 1830s jewellery.
