Absolutely Breathtaking Hand Painted Naturalistic Garden Scene by the well known French Artist ‘Jean’. In the PORZELLANMALER-LEXIKON, 1840-1914 by Waltraud Neuwirth, the French artist 'Jean' is recognizes as an important painter, he at one time lived at Assas, 32 Paris but there is further mention of him working in Limoges (thanks for the info R.R!).
The details of this painting are exquisite, the colors are magnificent, and the size is impressive. Chrysanthemum (or "Mum") as shown here come in all different shape sizes and colors. The Scarlet Red, Orange, & White/Violet Mums with an intermix of petite White Daisies creates a outstanding (almost virtual) canvas! Painted on a Rare 18” Chop Plate, this piece is nothing less than a Victorian Masterpiece and yet the Modern feel of this porcelain painting is what gives it great appeal to Today’s Market.
