What a classic Limoges Fruit Charger Art Piece! The interior design features a still life of grapes. All three colors of grapes are featured: vibrant purples, greens, and reds with multi-colored swirled leaves. The background is accented in a shaded blue hues and scattered leaf shadows. The transparency of the grapes and their delicate feel makes this an extraordinary beautiful art piece. It is unsigned but I have left the note attached that came with the charger. It reads:
THIS HAND PAINTED PLATE WAS A WEDDING GIFT TO MY MOTHER AND FATHER I AM 93 YEARS OLD SO IT IS OLD.
It certainly is, over 100 years old and in absolutely pristine condition. I am sure that it was admired by its past owners and treated as the precious art-ware piece that it was intended to be originally.
