The Wild Pink Geraniums, with their lovely cool shades of pinks, are a beautiful and a restful sight on this large Limoges Porcelain Charger. At a glance it is difficult to distinguish what kind of flowers these are but a little study of the leaves reveals that they are more than likely wild geraniums. Painted in soft shades of pink and green, the artistry is completely handpainted by the renown artist 'Emile', the son of Jean Pouyat (see below for more information). His work is highly collectible and for a very good reason. In contrast to most French artists doing the same kind of work, Emile's artistic range was immense. In addition to floral paintings, his landscape and nautical paintings are eagerly sought after. Our "Wild Geraniums" painting is a wonderful example of this versatility. The naturalistic style of this piece, with wonderful shading and shadow effects, speaks to the true artistic genius of this painter.
As art critics agree, the appeal of flower paintings is timeless & will continue indefinitely to be a "growing" market. This gentle & romantic hand painted Charger will also appreciate in value over time and offers a safe investment, as well as a charming one-of-a-kind artware piece, for the most serious porcelain floral collector.
