Excellent Pair Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamp Lamps C 1860

Here is an excellent pair of whale oil lamps made by the Boston and Sandwich glass company. Kaiser and Barlow, in their whale oil lamp book, fig. 2132, date this pattern, the Paneled Waffle pattern to the period from 1855 to 1870. The glass is excellent, no chips, cracks or discoloration. One of the brass stems has a tear about 1/2 at the top where it attaches to the font, probably from re-grouting a long time ago. There is no problem and the font and stem are secure, just mentioned to be honest in the description. I tried to show it in the lamp on the left. Nice early fine line no. 1 brass collars. These are heavy flint glass lamps weighing 3.7 lbs each. Nice ring to the glass when flecked with a finger. They stand 12.5" H. Price is for both lamps.
