Van Cleef & Arpels 18k Diamond Cluster Ring: just appraised at $3350

But in this case, that's not true! Here's a Van Cleef & Arpels ring for those of you who believe in investing in designer quality and yes, there IS a difference between famous designer made and signed fine jewelry. That's why some buyers are willing to pay the extra it costs to own a Van Cleef or Cartier, but in this case, the price is incredibly reasonable for an authentic VCA diamond ring.

When an interested buyer just recently asked about the quality of the stones, we decided to get an appraisal. We were sure of its high quality, but an appraisal helps buyers to be sure too. So you can see that appraisal now in photo #9.

Appraised at $3350, this delightful 18k gold ring by Van Cleef & Arples is fully signed and numbered and has the French eagle marking on the outside of the band. The design, as expected, is graceful and lovely, with 17 brilliant clear diamonds clustered in a 1/2" wide mount flanked by 3 ribs of 18k gold on either side. These diamonds are of VVS - VS clarity and E - F colour ... just as we expected: close to the best you can get!

Stampings inside the ring band include VCA, the serial number, diamond carat weight (0.41cts) and more as shown in photos. If there's a downside to the ring, it's its size: by our ring sizer, it's a size 4 - 4.5. ... making it an excellent pinky ring. On the plus side, there's plenty of gold in the thick band to re-size, and because the hallmarking is where it is, you won't lose the vital stamps like the designer's hallmark, VCA. That's often a problem in re-sizing valuable designer pieces of jewelry ie. losing the hallmark takes away from the value of the piece.

So here's your chance to own a bona fide 5.20 gram Van Cleef & Arpels ring at an affordable price. The appraiser told us that while he was doing the appraisal, a customer who runs high end auctions came in and saw this ring. He immediately asked for our information as he'd like to put it into one of his upcoming auctions. We'd prefer one of our customers buy it before we consider that option.
