We are big fans of fancy colored diamonds, so when we had the opportunity to add this little beauty to our shop, it was a no brainer. I wore a similar pendant on my wedding day, and it was the perfect touch of sparkle around my neckline without stealing the show from everything else happening that day. If you're looking for a wedding day necklace, or grooms, a wedding day gift to your beautiful bride-to-be, need I say more?
That's exactly what this beauty offers... sparkle, a hint of pink, and of course, rarity being natural pink diamonds. Set in stamped 18kt white and rose gold, the pendant is inscribed with the exact diamond carat weights for precision: the central pink diamond weighs 0.108ct and the accent pink and white diamonds, a combined 0.366ct.
The main pink is an emerald cut diamond measuring approximately 3.02 x 2.38mm (measured within the setting), and is surrounded by 8 smaller round brilliant cut pinks which appear to measure about 1.25 to 1.30mm each. The round cut diamonds are a lovely rose-pink hue averaging eye-clean Si2-i1 clarity, and the central 0.108ct facing up with I2 clarity. It does have imperfections, common in fancy pinks, but nonetheless, due to its color, color always outweighs clarity with natural fancies. Color-wise, she shows off some purple, so we're calling this one 'purplish-pink'.
Surrounding the pinks are 14 dazzling white round brilliant cut diamonds, each measuring around 1.70 to 1.80mm. These diamonds are eye clean, Si1-Si2 clarity and present with bright F-G-H color. Additionally there are 5 micro-bead set diamonds in the bale adding a further touch of finesse to this well-made piece.
Solid, with all diamonds very securely individually bead and/or claw set, the overall piece with chain weighs 2.85 grams, with the chain measuring 18 inches not including the pendant and bail. The pendant itself measures 9.25mm, and the bail & loop add 6.50mm, making the pendant drop measure close to 16mm, or approximately 5/8 of an inch. As mentioned, the pendant is clearly marked '18k' along with the maker's mark ADG and the diamond carat weights.
Natural fancy color diamonds will never depreciate, as they are so rare: Only 1 in 10,000 diamonds mined will be pink in color, and finding them in any size is a special treat!
