Faux Alexandrite 3-piece parure by KRAMER - Highly Collectible Costume Jewelry

Here's one of those highly sought after and rarely found 3-piece parure by Kramer. Kramer's jewelry is always exquisite in terms of quality, design and workmanship, but, in this case, rare because of the gorgeous stones used to create them: faux alexandrite crystals. I haven't seen one of these in a year! The last one I had in our shop at Ruby Lane by purchased by a bride in the Netherlands for her wedding day. What a superb way to add something "old" and sometimes blue to her bridal attire!

I say "sometimes blue" because that's the nature of faux alexandrite crystals: like their genuine gemstone counterpart, alexandrite, these crystals change color depending on the light. One second they are a pale blue; then a blue/green; and then a fabulous mauve to purple shade. Utterly fascinating to those who have never seen them, they are mesmerizing whatever color they exude, and especially in a set like this.

The lucky and wise buyer/collector of this set will be getting a 7" bracelet, 1" diameter clip-on earrings and a 2 1/4" diameter brooch. The stunning centerpiece of that bracelet is a full inch wide and 1 3/4" long. The width of the rest of the bracelet is 3/8", and it's comprised of alternating prong-set round crystals and wide emerald cuts. The clasp locks nicely with a pretty stone masking the clasp, and a safety chain to secure it.

Both the earrings and bracelet show more wear on the back than does the brooch but given they touch skin rather than clothing, that makes sense. I also notice the bracelet and earrings are signed simply "Kramer" in block letters, while the brooch is signed "Kramer of New York". So it's quite likely this set is actually a "marriage" but only the wearer/owner of the set would know that as the styles, cuts of stones and overall look is completely compatible.

This set is another from Cynthia's collection being sold on consignment for her. So any offers or requests for layaway must be run by her first. If you purchase outright at the price shown, that's not necessary.

On a personal note, I'm a huge fan of faux alexandrite costume jewelry. I love it for its unique color-changing properties, its fabulous color, its rarity and collectibility. I urge you to give it serious thought for the same reasons: sets like this are increasingly hard to find.
