Dazzling Certified Unheated COLOR-CHANGE Sapphire & Diamond Ring

The beautiful natural unheated sapphire in this vintage ring changes from a glowing sky-water-blue to a stunning violet-purple color, and very easily. Some color-changers only show a small amount of change, but this one clearly goes from blue to purple the moment you move from one source of light to another.

Pear-cut in shape, per its gem identification report, the sapphire weighs exactly 2.57ct and is unheated - meaning no heat or chemicals have been used to enhance the natural color of the gem. Unheated sapphire is considerably more valuable than heated and/or treated sapphire, especially in today's market, where chemically treated gems are a dime a dozen. Accenting the sapphire are 4 diamonds that are no less exceptional, graded VVS1-VVS2 in clarity & G-H color. They are tapered baguette cuts that weigh approximately 0.10ct each for a total of 0.40ct.

All the gems in this very fine & valuable ring (Insurance Retail Replacement Appraisal $10,550.00 CAD as of July 2011) are set in sturdy, heavy platinum. The ring is estimated to be about 30-35 years old, so the 'PLAT' stamp is considerably worn, but still legible. Nonetheless, the appraisal verifies the platinum content.

A large ring, the band is more oval than round, so it fits from about an 8 1/4 to a 9 (inner diameter 18.40mm - 18.85mm). Thankfully, due to its large, thick band, it should be easily sizable if you need a smaller size. Platinum is not as difficult to size as some believe, so please don't hesitate to ask about sizing!!
