Set with a luscious large 4.35ct square-cushion mixed cut sapphire with the most glorious blue color we've laid our eyes on in a while, and accented by bright, white pear & round brilliant cut diamonds, all set in platinum, this ring is here to steal your heart - or hers if you're engagement ring shopping! Current Retail Replacement Value: $27,605.00 CAD ($21,000 USD). Coming to us from a woman who decided to downgrade to a solitaire setting, this stunning ring, which is one-of-a-kind and custom design, originally held a 3ct+ diamond. The original owner removed her diamond and we acquired the setting from her. After holding onto the setting for nearly 2 years ourselves, we fortunately attained the most glorious natural blue sapphire which quickly found its home within this dazzling masterpiece.
The sapphire measures approximately 8.53 x 7.64 x 7.07mm (depth est within setting), with its clarity completely 'eye clean' with only slight inclusions seen under magnification. Its color is graded as "medium, strong, violetish blue color (GIA vB5/5)", with a good cut. Our gemologist has deemed this stunning gem as not showing any signs of heating, and at the time we attained it, we were also told the same, as well as the origin being Ceylon. The fire within this gem is blinding - so many facets dancing in the light - it's a show-stopper!
The stamped PT 900 (Platinum) setting is incredibly well made being a custom one-off piece. Set with 2 pear-cut diamonds either side of the sapphire, along with a further 72 round diamonds, this ring looks & feels like a million bucks on your hand. The pear diamonds measure approximately 5.04 x 3.08 x 1.94mm, weighing by calculation 0.36ct combined. They are eye-clean Si2 clarity with white F color and good cuts. In a halo surrounding the sapphire, as well as surrounding the pear diamonds, and running along the sides of the gallery are the bead-set round cut diamonds. They measure 1.20 to 1.30mm each, totaling an estimated 0.51ct, with very clean VS1 to Si1 clarity, white F-G color and also good cuts.
A heavy and solid ring, the weight of the ring is 10.10 grams, with delightful hand-etched scrolls and millegrain detailing down the sides of the shank and below the gallery. Truly WOW! Currently a US 6.75 to 7 (inner diameter 17.13 to 17.35mm), care needs to be take with sizing due to the intricacy of the design, however, it is absolutely doable - just please inquire about sizing first before placing an order.
