Pair of Victorian Aesthetic era Brown Minton Transferware Plates - Faisan 1880
Here are two Aesthetic era Victorian plates in the Faisan pattern, ca. 1880. Done by the Mintons Company, Staffordshire. Purchased in England. Each measures about 7 inches across. The color is what I believe is referred to as bittersweet chocolate. Both are in good, bright, clean condition. They are not an exact pair in that one plate is a little "deeper" than the other. One stands about 1/2 inch tall and the other is about 3/4 inch tall. Interesting, but not noticeable when displayed. Both are fully marked on reverse. The design features a center pheasant surrounded by bamboo and wonderful geometric patterns and cherry branches. Price includes both plates.
