Here is a rare bed fit for a princess. The heavy brass poster bed is held together with four cast iron rails that lock it all together securely. The half tester frame is held into the top of the posts and supported with a unique cast brass fitting on each end of the angle rod. We have the original wood frame that fits inside the brass frame and has the drapery you see hanging from it. The fabric hangings go with the bed. There appears to have been a brass rail at the top of the footboard which is now missing and the holes have been plugged and painted over (see photo detail below). Sure does make the bed easier to make, though and doesn't seem to hurt the structure of it. This bed is set up for a standard double mattress (not included). It comes apart very easily for transporting. There are heavy double wheels on the bottom of each post that add about 2" to the height. They do make the bed easy to roll, though. Not polished- just a natural old brass color.
