Oak 3 Drawer, Lift top Chest
We're not sure what this piece was originally designed for. The patent date on the back side of the two handles says October 31, 1871. The drawers are all divided by wood slats (most are removable if you want to change the function). The bottom drawer is about 3" deep. The top two drawers are 2" Deep. And then the lid lifts, too. One key can lock the entire chest. Once the lid is lifted, a bronze key on the right side can then be lifted slightly and that unhooks the drawers below. The key can be totally removed, also. Spaces between slats measured 1 7/8" wide x 15" front to back. This piece is currently sitting on casters that allow it to roll easily. Would make a nice small coffee table.
