Artist Signed Early New York Smoking Woman Postcard 'Heart's Flame' 1914
It depicts a lovely young woman lighting a cigarette from the flame of a burning heart.
From the expression on her face it must be assumed that the heart is not hers, but that of her lover.
Issued by Reinthal & Newman, New York, it is written and stamped in England and sent to an address in Harrogate, London.
The message is VERY British..speaking of 'topping' weather and mentions a trip to the theatre to see a performance of 'The Wheel and the Butterfly'..a play by Francis Neilson which starred an Australian actress named Madge Titheradge.
With minor corner bumps it is in very good condition.
