Early Vintage Alphonse Mucha 'Champenois' Poster c1970

From the era of Art Nouveau Revival comes this stunning Vintage Poster by the master of Art Nouveau..Czech artist Alphonse Marie Mucha (1860-1939)

Entitled 'Champenois' it is one of Mucha's most famous and best loved posters and comes from the pre dot matrix period 1960-1970, when original Art Nouveau posters were accurately and beautifully copied.

Probably the most widely recognized of all the French advertising posters, this was entitled 'Daydream' or 'Reverie' and first issued in 1896. Then in 1897 it became the advertising poster for the Paris Imprimateur (printer) F Champenois.

Originally printed by Champenois, this poster is issued by Sandival graphics c1970 and comes from my personal collection.

At one time I had a series of Mucha posters pinned up with thumb tacks. Now they are very treasured iconic items and hang on my walls in stunning frames.

Signed bottom right it measures 21 1/4" x 28" and is in good condition with no tears or creases. It has some faint rumples where it has been rolled up and stored for many years, but these will frame out.

An original 1890's issue of this poster recently sold at Sotheby's for more than $60,000.00, making this stunning Vintage issue a very affordable option.
