Antique Signed Alphonse Mucha Original 'Autumn' UB French Postcard c1900

This simply divine early French issue postcard has a design by the father of L'Art Nouveau..Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860-1939).

His name is synonymous with decorative beauty, ethereal long haired maidens and exquisite workmanship.

His original posters from the 1890's sell for six figures, making this original postcard from c1900 a very collectible piece of Art Nouveau memorabilia.

Entitled simply 'Autumn', it features a delicately pastel rendering of a beautiful young woman in a Greek style flowing white gown. Her cascading red hair is adorned with flowers.

Designed in 1896 as one of his famous Panneau (Panels) it was originally printed by F Champenois, Paris.

With an early un-divided back (c1900) it has a French address verso and a long message in tiny writing on the front. There is no stamp or franking mark.

The artist's signature is lower left.

There is some all-over age related soiling and album corner marks. The rounded corners are original to the postcard and not due to wear.

A highly collectible and affordable piece of Art Nouveau history, and perfect for framing.
