Original Grandville Signed French Engraving 'Fleur de Pecher' by Grandville 1852.

Original Signed Grandville French Engraving 1852 'Fleur de Pecher'.

This beautiful original Antique French engraving is by renowned caricature artist JJ Grandville (1803-47).

Entitled 'Fleur de Pecher' (peach blossom) it features a worried looking young woman in the attire of a peach tree. Her concern appears to be the fact that the leaves are all fallen and the branches are bare. She is scantily clad, without shoes, and extremely cold. Clutching a fur muff which does not seem to be keeping her warm.

Issued by A Delavau in 1852, this is an original French engraving and NOT a modern reprint.

The colors are wonderful and with only some very minor age discoloration near the edges it is in very good Antique condition.

It measures 6 1/4" x 9 3/4".
