From the pages of the Art Deco French Art Magazine..La Vie Parisienne, and the hand of Raphael Kirchner (1876-1913), comes this gorgeous early 20th century magazine illustration.
Featuring a typical Kirchner lady (usually his lovely wife), it is entitled 'Les Premiers Lilas' (the first Lilacs), and not only signed Raphael Kirchner centre left, but also listed as being an aquarelle by him, top right.
The caption beneath loosely translates as 'Flowers Gentlemen?'
Our beautiful naked young lady wears nothing but masses of Lilac and stands before a huge basket full of the blooms, coquettishly offering them to the viewer.
This is page 241, and verso (page 242) has printing (which does not show through the print), and the date 5 Avril 1913.
I have 2 other gorgeous Kirchner magazine prints listed..RP283 and RP246. They would look stunning as a set all framed and hung together.
Measuring 10 1/2" x 13" it is in very good condition.
