Original Art Deco French Magazine Illustration..signed Kirchner..Stunning!

Featuring a typical Kirchner lady (usually his beautiful wife), it is entitled 'Les Ailes de Caprice' (the wings of fancy), and not only signed Raphael Kirchner lower left, but also listed as an aquarelle by him upper right.

The caption beneath loosely translates as, 'Is this a Fairy?. Is this an Angel? Amazingly it is a woman!'

She stands demurely naked with an exquisite blue Butterfly perched on her back which gives the impression she has wings.

This is page 259, and verso (page 260) has printing, (which does not show through the print) and is dated 12 avril 1913.

This is the first of several wonderful Kirchner illustrations I will be listing.

Measuring 10 1/2" x 13" it is in very good condition.
