This beautif, vintage 1988 cultured white pearl and sterling silver necklace (16" inches in length) and earring set was made by well-known jewelry artisan, Lisa Jenks of New York City.
The necklace has her signature sterling silver interlocking scroll "c" clasp, signed "Jenks 925" and features lovely 6mm white round cultured pearls with an engraved sterling bar (7mm wide) that overlaps in the center and encloses a small pendant strand measuring 1.5" inches long. The earrings have oval shaped baroque pearls with a free form shaped sterling nugget with sterling posts for pierced ears, measuring 3/8" of an inch tall.
Lisa Jenks moved to New York from Ohio to study at Parsons school of design. But she moved away from fashion design into the realm of jewelry in the 1980's when she formed her own company. She has been creating for over 25 years and has been recognized a distinctive designer of contemporary sterling jewelry. This is one her earlier pieces.
