This Benedikt of New York Christmas tree pin, vintage late 1950's, is featured on page 28 of the collector's book by Nancy Trowbridge, "Christmas Tree Pins" ($75-$90 value back in 2002). This petite, three-dimensional holiday arbor has nine little red and green glass bead ornaments that dangle from its branches.
This highly collectible and rare-to-find tree measures 1.5" inches tall X 1.25" inches at its widest point. This convex shaped, three-dimensional conifer is very detailed with gold plated, textured pine branches and a wood grain trunk. Excellent condition.
Unsigned, but it is definitely a Benedikt of NY piece (Like Weiss, some companies did not sign their jewelry that went for sale in stores like Woolworth's vs. those pieces that went to retail at fine department stores, like Macy's). Last two photos show a signed tree, so you can compare and see that it is the exact same tree, except without the oval hallmark label.
