This signed Jabel, custom-made, vintage 1960's 18K white gold engagement ring boasts a truly magnificent, extremely high grade natural Columbian emerald, round cut .50 carats, vivid and brilliant pure green in hue, extremely clear and non-oiled (quite rare), untreated, very very slightly included (all emeralds have inclusions, but this one is near perfect), to quote the Master Gemologist who examined it under magnification. This ring was custom made by Jabel for its previous owner back in 1964 to impress his debutante fiancé!
The emerald is surrounded by ten tiny diamonds, all prong set in 18K white gold. All diamonds are VVS1, G near colorless; again, quoting the Master Gemologist who examined the stones....very high grade for small diamonds. All the stones on this ring sparkle like crazy...Really a wow of a ring!
Head of ring measures 7mm or about 1/4" of an inch across, and it rises up 7mm from the finger in its setting.
Inside of ring band is hallmarked "JABEL 18K". Ring band width tapers from 2mm to 1mm in the back. Excellent condition. An extremely fine, dainty ring for the petite woman.
As the gem of spring, emerald is the perfect choice as the birthstone for the month of May. It's also the gem of the twentieth and thirty-fifth wedding anniversaries.
SIZE NOTE: Ring is currently a size 4.75 US. There's enough 18K gold on this band to enlarge it to a size 5, 5.25, or 5.5 US.
Other NOTE: I have the 18K gold wedding band to go with this engagement ring, if you're interested. It sits flush next to this engagement ring. Original engraving can be changed to re-engrave for your special sweetheart/occasion.
