McCoy 1940's-50's Gingerbread Man Cookie Jar

This vintage 1940s-1950s McCoy cookie jar features a gingerbread boy on one side and a gingerbread girl on the other. This clay stoneware pottery cookie jar is glazed in light robin's egg blue and cold painted with red and school bus yellow letters (COOKIES, 6” inches across). The brown gingerbread boy has white eyes, nose, mouth and 3 buttons (4.25” inches tall). Raised design in blue of a gingerbread girl on the back side (flowing skirt dress with curled hair – 4.25” tall).

This whimsical, vintage cookie jar measures 8” inches tall without lid, 9.5” inches with lid. Measures about 24” inches around. Base measures 6.75” inches across. Raised, ribbed design on lid and top. Paint missing in several small spots on gingerbread man/boy. Otherwise, perfect condition. Item weighs 4 lbs., 14.2 ounces.
