This Art Deco era Chinese silver (gilt; gold wash) export, three-dimensional domed pair of earrings features genuine Persian blue turquoise (4) and red coral cabochons (3) in raised bezel and twisted rope settings. Each genuine, semi-precious stone cabochon measures about 5mm across. Bezel set cabochons are surrounded by Etruscan Revival "flowers", with thin petals, all clustered closely together.
Each earring measures 3/4" of an inch (21mm) across X 1/2" an inch high (3D). Earring backings have a filigree design with screw backs. These tested 800 silver and 14K gold wash earrings are hallmarked "SILVER" on a rectangular panel on the back of one earring.
This fabulous set was purchased in the 1930's by my client's grandfather, Captain Ben, who was a merchant marine. He carefully stored his collection away, never worn, so the earrings are in mint condition. Wow!!
