This gold plated, highly domed cocktail ring is pave set with more than 100 clear round chaton Swarovski rhinestones. It is truly a three-dimensional show stopper of a cocktail ring! U.S. size is 6.75 to 7.25.
This ring originally came from a Jomaz collector who purchased this ring along with the signed Jomaz brooch and earrings in the late 1960's (See last photo). Although unsigned, this is definitely a Jomaz ring. (Note: One earring is signed "JOMAZ" and the other is signed "JOSEPH MAZER", and brooch is signed "JOMAZ" with the copyright symbol. Collector is keeping brooch & earrings, so they are not for sale.)
Head of this ring measures 1" X 7/8" of an inch. Ring rises up 1/2" an inch from the finger. Ring band tapers down from 12mm to 5mm at the back. The ribbed, rolled, gold plated edge gives nice definition to the rounded dome of clear, pave set stones. Pristine, excellent condition!
Bit O'History: Mazer Bros. was founded by Lincoln and Joseph Mazer in 1927, New York (In Philadelphia from 1917). Eventually Joseph Mazer went on to open a separate company in 1946 and the logo was eventually shortened to Jomaz. Joseph Mazer and Company, Inc. was run by Joseph Mazer's son in the 1950's and 60's, and after his death run for a short time by his widow. They ceased operation in the late 1970's. The jewelry is high quality and commands high prices. Early pieces were signed Mazer Bros, later pieces were Mazer or Jomaz.
