This signed, Royal Albert of England fine bone china tea cup and saucer is vintage 1970, called "Christmas Rose" (December), from this company's very collectible Flower of the Month Series. Royal Albert's "Montrose" cup shape was chosen for this set. The Montrose cup shape was first introduced in 1962 with the "Old Country Roses" Pattern. This particular pattern & series was discontinued by Royal Albert in 1990.
Inside of cup has writing, "December", along with Dogwood-like white & pink "rose" flowers with red berries & green holly leaves, as well as around the saucer. Fluted rim on saucer and fluted sides on cup and gold trim gilding.
Saucer measures 5.5" inches across. Open cup measures 3 3/8" inches across; with handle, 4 3/8" inches. Base of teacup measures 1 7/8" inches across. Excellent condition. NOTE: Replacements Ltd. has this set priced at $33.99. DRCC 66-2014. FINAL Sale price...item will be removed August 30, 2014.
