Napier 1960's Sapphire Blue "Hope Diamond" Cocktail Ring ~ Mint ~ VERY RARE Book Piece

This gorgeous, jewel toned sapphire blue stone cocktail ring, vintage 1965, is set in a gold nugget textured and twisted rope design basket setting of gold plate. The stone measures 20mm or 3/4" of an inch square. Setting rises up 11mm or nearly 1/2" an inch above the finger. Leaf etched ring band, measuring 5mm wide, is adjustable from sizes 5-8 US.

This cocktail ring was part of a very limited edition line of jewelry, particularly because the awesome stones themselves, dubbed "hope diamonds", were a small limited edition and Napier bought the entire small production!

This important "Hope Diamond" ring is featured on page 383 of "The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry" by Melinda Lewis and Henry Swen, just published last year - 2013 (See last photo).

Back of ring is hallmarked "NAPIER" with the copyright symbol. This stunning cocktail ring is in mint condition! These are quite rare to find!

NOTE: I also have the clear crystal Hope Diamond drop earrings from this design series in my shop (RL-4154)!
