This impressive Asian motif set, signed by Napier, is vintage mid-1970's and features a tapered cuff bracelet and huge pair of dangling drop earrings, rendered in gold plate with Chinese characters. The earrings were originally designed by Anne Fogarty for Napier in 1953 and were called "Chinese Lampsticks". The earrings measure 3 1/8" inches long X 1 1/8" inches wide. Rectangular earrings have two curved sides, as can be seen in the 3rd photo.
This chic set is featured in Melinda Lewis' impressive tome of a book, The Napier Company: DEFINING 20th CENTURY AMERICAN COSTUME JEWELRY. See page photos. My cuff bracelet is in much better condition than the one in the book!
Cuff bracelet is 2.5" inches wide and has in inside circumference (including opening in back) of 6.75" inches at the top and 7.75" inches at the bottom. Back of bracelet is hallmarked "NAPIER" with the copyright symbol and the clip backs on the earrings are hallmarked "NAPIER PAT PEND". All three pieces are in excellent condition, with the gold plate totally intact. Fabulous set!
