This vintage 1930's, Eisenberg Original signed fur clip, recast by Roberta Barnes, is a figural bunch of grapes with huge clear crystals for the grapes (18mm) all prong set, with tendrils and three leaves, two of which are adorned with pave set clear round chaton rhinestones.
This very impressive clip measures 3.75" inches tall X 3" inches at its widest point. Back of largest leaf is hallmarked "Eisenberg Original" with the number "22" stamped in a circle. This piece is in excellent condition and the clip is in fine working order. Wow! Weighs 65 grams.
Roberta was famous for her reproductions or as she called them RECAST. She always made them a little different from the originals. I believe Roberta's recasts have a following as they were all hand made and never represented by her as originals. Her recasts are quite collectible. Sadly she has now passed, but her legacy lives on through these pieces. Roberta's work is very controversial. Some people despise the fact that she copied these expensive originals, but it is a well known fact that many, in fact most important pieces of jewelry have been reproduced to provide a more accessible version for the general public. These fur clips generally sell for $500-$1,200.
