This Napier signed, vintage 1970s mod pendant features an oval glass amethyst purple cabochon set in a wavy, gold plated frame, which dangles from inside a bird's nest style open metal work circle, composed of wavy layers of thick, brushed textured, gold plated threads.
This 1973 design line is featured on page 475 of of this impressive book, "The Napier Company, Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry" by Melinda L. Lewis with Henry J. Swen, just published this year (2013). See 2nd photo.
The entire pendant measures 1.75" inches across. The oval glass royal purple cabochon in its frame measures 7/8" X 3/4" of an inch. Back of dangling piece is hallmarked "Napier" with the copyright symbol.
Pendant is strung from a Napier signed (oval tag near spring ring clasp), flat oval link, gold plated chain, 36" inches in length. All pieces are in pristine, excellent condition. Chic 1970's pendant necklace!
