Vintage 1940's Opal & Vermeil Floral Brooch

This very feminine pin boasts a fancy, oval frame, inside of which curves a beautiful flower with a genuine opal blossom and gold plated leaves and stem. The oval shaped opal is in a curvy, dog tooth prong setting, and the stone itself measures 9mm X 6mm. The entire pin is sterling silver with a gold wash, otherwise called vermeil.

The back of the pin is hallmarked in two places, "R Sterl". The entire pin measures 1 3/8" X 1 1/4" inches. It is in excellent condition, with only minor wear to the gold wash on the frame and on the back side.

NOTE: Opal is the birthstone for the month of October.
