RARE Cadoro Sleek Modernist 1960's Square Starburst Brooch

This ultra chic, mod, vintage late 1960's brooch is square in shape with a three-dimensional rise to a pyramid that finishes with a flat top, inset with a mesmerizing aqua blue faceted emerald cut glass stone, prong set in brush textured, matte finish gold plate. The brooch measures 2" inches across and rises up 5/8" of an inch from the base. The aqua blue stone is open back to let the light shine through and has a geometric, checkboard faceting and a curved pillow back.

This edgy, sexy piece is hallmarked "Cadoro" with the copyright symbol on a raised, rectangular cartouche. This piece is in excellent condition, save for two tiny chips to the aqua stone on one side (see last photo) and very minor wear to the gold plating on the back.

More about Cadoro...their custom designed couture pieces featured hand crafted brushed gold and silver toned metals along with beautiful rhinestones and glass crystals from all over the world. The company ceased production in 1970. Cadoro jewelry is rare and highly sought after.

NOTE: 1960's vintage aqua blue crochet dress is from Vintage Virtuosa of Westport, CT.
