RARE 1960's Modernist, Kraft Signed Sterling Silver Christmas Tree Pin - Tie Tack ~ Book Piece

This vintage 1960's modernist, petite Christmas tree pin or tie tack is solid sterling silver and features a five-tiered holiday arbor, detailed with alternating cuts into the side of the tree, as well as zig-zag shaped grooves and a textured or dimpled surface. This triangular shaped tree is so detailed, yet very simple at the same time. The zig-zag design and bumpy texture have the effect of snow on this tree's evergreen branches.

This very tree will be featured in Kathy Flood's upcoming book, "Comprehensive Jewelry Guide to Signed Christmas Tree Pins", due out just after Christmas 2012.

The back is hallmarked "Kraft" in script letters and "925" for sterling silver. It has a pinch back, tie tack-style clasp, which is also marked "Kraft" and "Silver".

The tree measures 1 3/8" inches tall X 1" inch at its widest point. It weighs 3.5 grams. This unique and probably rare tree is in excellent condition. What a find for the collector!
