This 1960's modernist abstract design brooch, signed by Corocraft, is like part of a king's crown, a torch or perhaps a flower pod, set with a large, square, rounded edge stone in brilliant jewel tone sapphire blue.
The huge 1" inch (25mm) across gold foiled stone is set to look like it is floating inside its setting. The setting is textured, brushed gold tone, slightly shiny and matte finish at the same time. It has a beautiful curve to it and the four sections around the stone are adorned with ball tips for a regal effect.
It measures 2 1/2" inches tall X 1 1/4" inches at its widest point. It is hallmarked "Corocraft" in script lettering with the copyright symbol on a raised, rectangular cartouche on the back. It is in pristine, excellent condition.
NOTE: I have this same brooch with an emerald green stone in my shop (RL-2956).
