Franciscan Desert Rose Platter Made in USA

Franciscan, Gladding McBean, made Desert Rose between 1941 and 1984. Desert Rose with it's hand painted pink roses, with yellow centers and green leaves and stems on a white china background became one of the most popular china patterns selling more than any other pattern in the United States.

This lovely oval shaped platter with two small tab handles used for serving many different items from turkey to meat to dessert. The platter measures about 12 & 3/4 inches long and about 8 & 1/2 inches wide.

The platter is marked on the back with the Franciscan, Made in USA mark that was used in the late 1960s. This platter is shiny and shows little or no use.

The pink rose with the yellow center pattern along with the green leaves and stem are around the entire rim of the platter including the tab handles.
