This late 1800's vase was painted with the highest degree of grandeur I have ever laid eyes on!The hand painted bouquet is done in soft shades if pink, purple, greens, gray and blue upon a soft yellow background. The definition and visibility of brush strokes is amazing. The fluted neck of this treasure is decorated with the most delicate design of gold beading and encrusted floral bouquets. This 1800's technique was done by applying tiny beads and designs to the porcelain prior to firing and then hand decorated in gold after. Now the very top of the vase was broken at some point in time but was repaired expertly,as shown in photos. The break is barely noticeable on the outside but can be seen clearly on the inside view.It is backstamped on the bottom B.& H. over France inside a circle in green. After hours and hours of searching the closet I can determine is it was made by The Blakeman & Henderson Company from the Limoges region of France from the late 1800's until the very early 1900's.They were known to import Limoges porcelains into the U.S.. Their in house decoration and painting was reputed always as being of the highest quality. This delicate bud vase measures 9-1/4" high,4" wide and 11" round in circumference.Beautiful and pleasing to all the senses!
