This is a rare example on Classic Victorian Erotica. In 1902 it was privately published and brought to the printed page by Lord Bryon Hardwin ( which must be an alias, for I can find no information on such a person) and by The Royal Press London Paris. It is one of a limited edition of 800 and numbered somewhere in between 101/ 800.It is printed on vellum stock and bound in art canvas. It is illustrated with ink sketches through out by a Le Roy, but as not to offend I have decided not to post. Not that I am a prude but honestly some are pretty risque' drawings. Condition is fair, binding is a little loose and the two first pages are loose. There is some foxing and some small tares. All 399 untrimmed pages are present and free of any markings or writing. The story line is of a young women who accompanies her mother to visit the Convent of St. Claire.Only the she is a he and his secret is quickly found out and shared. It was banned until 1971 when it was brought to the US print in a paper back edition without illustrations.
