Circa 1889 - 1903: 87 Pieces, Rare Pattern and Find!Elegant Theodore Haviland French Limoges Complete Dinning Set

In 1865 David Haviland began manufacturing and hand decorating his own porcelain in Limoges France. In 1879 when David died his sons Theodore and Charles took over the company. In 1892 Theodore left Haviland & Company and began his own," Theodore Haviland ".This incredible and scarce set of Limoges Porcelain is a heirloom collection fit for royalty.Although I don't know the patterns name and believe me I have tried to find this pattern for a long time, I believe the pattern # is H1711, which was one of his pattern numbers but no pieces are available to match it against. The mark is a circa 1903 p mark in red with Theodore Haviland underlined and present on all pieces. It was hand painted with a lovely and delicate floral spray design in unusual shades of lavender, pink, yellow, gray and red and accented in gold. The colors in this pattern are different than the usually viewed floral pastels of Limoges.I love the darker shades incorporated in this pattern, which make it a more of a year round dinning set, than the pretty spring time pink florals. All covered pieces are decorated on the insides also. This elegant dining set is complete with many hard to find serving pieces. The collection includes: 12 dinner plates @ 10", 12 rimmed soup bowls @ 7 1/2",12 salad plates @ 8",12 small bowls @ 5",12 cups and saucers ( of which 1 cup in cracked and 2 saucers repaired ).The highly sought after serving pieces consist of : Gravy Boat with attached tray @7 1/2", large fluted and covered Tureen with handles @ 10" x 7 1/2",a round covered and fluted Tureen with handles @ 8",Large oval Platter @ 14" x 10",a deep oval fluted Bowl @ 10" x 7 1/4',serving plate @ 9" x 5 1/2" ( which is not shown due to photo space ),a Creamer and covered Sugar Bowl and a large 3 piece covered butter dish. All pieces are in excellent condition with bright colors and are scratch and chip and crack free aside from the 3 mentioned in the description.Due to the condition of these 3 pieces my pricing is for 10 place settings instead of 12.In 1972 all Haviland Limoges companies left the hands of a 4 generation family business. The Haviland Limoges Companies were bought by The Cerabati Group who changed the name to Haviland SA. A beautiful and obsolete Dinning Set that was part of the legend of a once fine porcelain kingdom.
