*Circa 1910: American Brilliant Period Cut Crystal Cheese Saver

This 1910 circa cut crystal cheese saver was a more elaborate ( a true luxury item ) piece and one that was often passed over for pieces that could to be more functioning on a daily basis.I have carefully looked over this piece with the naked eye but can not locate any acid signature mark of a cutting house but then they are so hard to find to begin with it may be there and I just have not discovered it.The workmanship and combination of precise and deep cut pinwheels, cane and 24 point stars among other added touches and cuts, result in a dazzling display of spectral colors. There is no over lapping in the design and no air bubbles present. The teeth on the under plate are rounded, not sharp a quality of ABP glass making it durable and safe for everyday use. This set is nice and solid and weighs 6 1/4 lbs..The under plate measures 9 1/2" in diameter with the dome handled lid measuring 19 1/2" in circumference and 7 1/2" high, making it a total of 8 1/2" high resting on the plate. In almost flawless condition without chips or cracks but alas there are a few minor scratches that are only visible under magnification and not to the naked eye. This solid and extraordinary piece is a lot larger than the few you will find available toady. An visionary work of art that will trigger every optic nerve you possess.
