I acquired this charming holy water font some time ago from a man who was selling his life-long collection of bénitiers. I couldn't resist this sweet little angel with her toga-like gown and soft, Marian blue wings. Note the pretty gold accents throughout as well as her blushing cheeks and dainty crossed feet.
I also discovered that this font is part of the John J. Burns Library Collections at Boston College, specifically in the Liturgy and Life Artifacts Collection. There was no additional information available; just the inclusion of this wonderful religious artifact.
Likely from the 1930s or 1940s, she is stamped in the mold "Germany" and 7033. Every aspect of this religious delight is in perfect condition – the porcelain, the paint and the combination glossy and matte finishes. There is a hole at the back of the neck for hanging, or you could use the opening from the mold if that's more secure.
Surely you have a special place to give this angel rest. Just say the word and she's yours!
